Elder Jell Dizon
Opening Hymn #104
“Christ is Risen! Shout Hosanna!”
Invocation
Prayer of Confession
Redeeming God, you bring life out of dead ends, and hope in the midst of despair. Forgive us for doubting that you are still at work even in the darkest hour, even in the most painful moments. Forgive us for our hesitant action, cautious compassion, our too-frequent reluctance.
Loving God, teach us a stillness that leads to acts of kindness and clarity of vision. Shape in us a trust that leads to faithful witness and a bold charity. Form us in love and in your resurrection hope that loosens our worry and eases our anger. Make us true disciples filled with love, acting with justice, and living out hope. In the name of the Risen Christ, Amen.
(A time of silence for personal reflection, to be ended with the ringing of the bell.)

Affirmation of Faith
(A Contemporary Christian Creed, 2016)
We believe in God the Father, who created the world, was faithful when we were not, and who continuously seeks to redeem the world.
We believe in God the Son, Jesus Christ, who humbled himself by becoming human and moving into our neighborhood; was sent by the Father to give us life; embodied and taught the righteous love of God; and who, though he knew no sin, became sin and was put to death on a cross.
We believe that three days later, Jesus Christ was raised from the dead by the power of God; was seen in bodily form by his disciples.
We believe that the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus gives us victory over any form of sin and brokenness and allows us to know the full love of God for the world.
We believe in God the Holy Spirit, who actively works in our lives, giving us grace to be like Jesus, and sends us to show God’s love for the world. Amen.
