Order of Worship

Prelude / Silent Meditation

Karine Bendicion

(The Lord is in His holy temple, let all the earth be silent before Him.)

Call to Worship

Leader:           People of God, who do you come to worship?
People:          We come to worship the one true God.
Leader:           How will you worship?
People:          Not with words alone, but by living lives of justice and love.
Leader:           Come, you who belong to God. Come, you who are foolish in the eyes of the
world.
ALL:               Come and abide in God’s tent and in God’s heart, now and forever, Amen.

Opening Hymn #430

“Come Sing, O Church, in Joy!”

Invocation *

Prayer of Confession

O Holy God of Promise, we so often place our trust in the things we can see, touch and easily believe. But you did not ask us to believe what is easy. You have asked us to believe what is true!

Forgive us, Lord, when we complain and even doubt your capacity to give and provide for our needs. When we grumble and question your love for us. When we become envious of others and not appreciate what we have. Forgive us when feeling insecure we become selfish and less generous and giving. Make us know, dear God that you provide perfectly for all our needs.

We offer these prayers in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen.

(A time of silence for personal reflection, to be ended with the ringing of the bell.)

Affirmation of Faith

We are God’s work of art - each one of us a precious gem,
a marvelous melody, a potter’s delight.
‍ ‍We are God’s handiwork - woven together in love,
shaped with infinite compassion, painted with incredible beauty.

We are the Church of Jesus Christ - diverse in human qualities,
but united in our call to love God, with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength,
and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
We are the Body of Christ - living in His truth, sharing His peace,
carrying His hope, embodying His love,
throughout the world He loved so much.
We are here to be reminded once more who we are, whose we are
and what our lives are about - loved from eternity past to eternity future.
We are here to be uplifted, renewed and empowered
‍ ‍to live out the miracle of who we are,
by the power of God working in and among us.
This we believe, and so we live, Amen. (Worship Resources, UCC 2011)

ANNOUNCEMENTS

July 12, 2026

Welcome! We’re glad to have you in worship today - even on Video Live Streaming. We pray that you felt God’s presence in a special way and encountered our Risen Savior!

Next Week is Youth Sunday

Heads Up, CPC Family! Our young people are getting ready to serve, share, and worship with us. We’re excited to see them step up and use their God-given gifts.

With hearts full of love and deep sorrow, we share the passing of this precious 8-month-old baby boy

ARES PEREZ

Ares Perez is the baby son of Oscar Perez (LVN) and Layza Solano (Social Worker), both former coworkers of Elder Dennis Bartolome. Layza also currently works with our Dani Orendain and Elder Art Lopez. Oscar and Layza are believers in Christ, and CPC has been faithfully praying for baby Ares in our Prayer Meetings and Sunday Services.

As the family prepares to honor and remember Ares’ beautiful life, any amount of support will be a blessing. Your prayers, kindness, and generosity mean so much during this difficult time. If you would like to contribute financially, you may Zelle Elder Dennis Bartolome at (562) 277-8755, or you can Zelle the parents directly at Oscar Perez (909) 252-2075 or Layza Solano (562) 940-7511.
