WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY
October 5, 2025

WELCOME! We’re glad to have you in worship today - even
on Facebook Live and YouTube. We pray that you felt God’s
presence in a special way and encountered our Risen Savior!

Order of Worship

  • Margaret Armstrong

    (The Lord is in His holy temple, let all the earth be silent before Him.)

  • Leader: Elder Art Lopez

    Leader: We have come together to praise God from whom all blessings flow.
    People: The firmament, the covering of earth and seas, is the roof of our sanctuary.
    Leader: And so, we dwell in the house of God all the days of our lives as one people.
    People: We will sing songs of praise and give thanks for God’s steadfast hope in us. Who today will bless God for God’s surpassing greatness?
    ALL: Let everything has breath worship and praise God!

  • All Creatures of Our God and King
    Hymn: Francis of Assisi, 1225
    Tune: Geistliche Kirchengesang, 1623

    1.
    All creatures of our God and King,
    Lift up your voice and with us sing,
    Alleluia! Alleluia!
    Thou burning sun with golden beam,
    Thou silver moon with softer gleam,
    Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
    Alleluia!

    2.
    Thou rushing wind that art so strong,
    Ye clouds that sail in heaven along,
    O sing ye! Alleluia!
    Thou rising morn, in praise rejoice,
    Ye lights of evening, find a voice!
    Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
    Alleluia!

    3.
    Thou flowing water, pure and clear,
    Make music for thy Lord to hear,
    Alleluia! Alleluia!
    Thou fire so masterful and bright,
    That givest us both warmth and light,
    Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
    Alleluia!

    4.
    Thou fertile earth, that day by day
    Unfoldest blessings on your way,
    O sing ye! Alleluia!
    The flowers and fruits that in thee grow,
    Let them God's glory also show!
    Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
    Alleluia!

    5.
    And everyone of tender heart,
    Forgiving others, take your part,
    O sing ye! Alleluia!
    Ye who long pain and sorrow bear,
    Praise God and cast on God your care!
    Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
    Alleluia!

    6.
    All creatures, your Creator bless,
    And worship God in humbleness.
    O sing ye! Alleluia!
    Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son,
    And praise the Spirit, Three in One!
    Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
    Alleluia!

  • Spirit of Truth, Spirit of God, You know all too well what lurks deep within us. We confess that we have not loved one another as You have loved us. We have often focused on ourselves. We are quick to find fault and spread gossip, sins that undermine this fellowship. We have left strangers among us feeling like outsiders. We have not done our best to carry Jesus Christ’s Good News beyond these walls. Forgive us, O Lord. Make us new once more. Restore us to the joy of Your salvation. In Jesus name, Amen.

    (A time of silence for personal reflection, to be ended with the ringing of the bell.)

  • Rev. Emmanuel Orendain

  • Youth Praise Team

  • May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

  • OT: Deuteronomy 8: 10-18/ Deacon Noel Amorozo

    NT: Luke 17: 11-19 / Elder Arleen Amorozo

  • “Glory Be to the Father”
    (Collection of Prayer Cards)

  • O hope of every contrite heart
    O joy of all the meek
    To those who fall
    How kind Thou art!
    How good to those who seek!

  • ONE SONG OF PRAISE
    by Joseph Martin
    Sung: CPC Chancel Choir

    Conducting: Elder Choy Bautista

    1.
    This day of celebration,
    hand in hand we stand as one.
    We face a bright tomorrow,
    great the work that must be done.
    Each of us must be committed.
    Each of us take up the call.
    God has given us a vision,
    now we must dedicate our all,
    Give our all!

    Refrain:
    We sing one alleluia,
    We raise one amen.
    We are one church united,
    Let the song begin.
    Many talents, many gifts,
    all made one in Christ's embrace.
    We sing one alleluia.
    We are one mind,
    We are one voice.
    We are one song of praise.

    2.
    This is a day for worship,
    a time for joyful song.
    We come with glad thanksgiving,
    for all that God has done.
    Now we look for new horizons,
    we dream of things to come.
    God's love brings us together,
    God's Holy Spirit make us one.
    We are one! (refrain)

  • “GUILT, GRACE, GRATITUDE”
    Elder Ed Ramos
    (Pastor-In-Process with Presbytery)

  • (Excerpted from the Heidelberg Catechism Q/A #2)

    Leader: What must you know to live and die in the joy of this comfort

    People: Three things: first, how great our sin and misery are; second, how we are set free from all our sins and misery; third, how we are to thank God for such deliverance.

    ALL: Guilt. Grace. Gratitude. To live and die in the joy and comfort that are found in Jesus Christ we must have a deep experience of our own guilt and of God’s grace. And when we do, we will live in deep gratitude to God for saving us from our sin. The reason we so often live with ungrateful hearts is because we so quickly lose sight of the wickedness of our sin and therefore of the greatness of God’s grace in rescuing us from it. So then, we will resolve to live a life of perpetual gratitude as we acknowledge the blessings that are ours in Christ. This we believe and so we live, Amen.

    Communion Hymn #503

    COME, RISEN LORD
    Hymn: George Briggs, 1931
    Tune: Alfred Smith, 1941

    1.
    Come, risen Lord, and deign to be our guest;
    Nay, let us be Thy guests; the feast is Thine;
    Thyself at Thine own board make manifest
    In Thine own sacrament of bread and wine.

    2.
    We meet, as in that upper room they met,
    Thou at the table, blessing, yet dost stand;
    "This is My body"; so Thou givest yet;
    Faith still receives the cup as from Thy hand.

    3.
    One body we, one body who partake,
    One church united in communion blest;
    One name we bear, one bread of life we break,
    With all Thy saints on earth and saints at rest.

    4.
    One with each other, Lord, for one in Thee,
    Who art one Savior and one living head;
    Then open Thou our eyes, that we may see;
    Be known to us in breaking of the bread.

  • BLEST BE THE TIE THAT BINDS
    Hymn: John Fawcett, 1782
    Tune: Johann Nageli, 1773-1836

    1.
    Blest be the tie that binds
    Our hearts in Christian love:
    The fellowship of kindred minds
    Is like to that above.

    2.
    Before our Father's throne
    We pour our ardent prayers;
    Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one,
    Our comforts and our cares.

    3.
    We share our mutual woes,
    Our mutual burdens bear.
    And often for each other flows
    The sympathizing tear.

    4.
    From sorrow, toil, and pain,
    And sin we shall be free;
    And perfect love and friendship reign
    Through all eternity.

The Heidelberg Catechism on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is an expression of appreciation or gratitude for a gift received. Thanksgiving always entails two parties. In giving thanks to God, he is the superior party (since he is the creator), and we are the inferior party (since we are creatures). Everything we have and are comes from him.

He is the consummate giver (James 1:17). The Bible bids us to express our gratitude to him in worship (Psalm 107:1). Our vocalized thanksgiving is to be the authentic overflow of our hearts for God's goodness to us.
