WELCOME! We’re glad to have you in worship today - even
on Facebook Live and YouTube. We pray that you felt God’s
presence in a special way and encountered our Risen Savior!

Order of Worship

  • Karine Bendicion

    (The Lord is in His holy temple, let all the earth be silent before Him.)

  • One: Great and marvelous are your works, O Lord God, the Almighty.
    All: Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations.
    One: Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name?
    All: You alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you.
    One: Your righteous acts have been revealed.
    All: We will worship and submit to our Almighty King. Amen!

  • Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken
    Hymn: John Newton, 1779
    Tune: Franz Joseph Haydn, 1797

    1. Glorious things of thee are spoken,
    Zion, city of our God;
    God, whose word cannot be broken,
    Formed thee for a blest abode,
    On the rock of ages founded,
    What can shake thy sure repose
    With salvation's walls surrounded,
    Thou may'st smile at all thy foes.

    2.
    See, the streams of living waters,
    Springing from eternal love,
    Well supply thy sons and daughters
    And all fear of want remove.
    Who can faint while such a river
    Ever flows their thirst to assuage?
    Grace, which like the Lord the giver,
    Never fails from age to age.

    3.
    Round each habitation hovering,
    See the cloud and fire appear
    For a glory and a covering,
    Showing that the Lord is near.
    Thus deriving from their banner
    Light by night and shade by day,
    Safe they feed upon the manna
    Which God gives them when they pray.

  • Merciful Holy Father, we confess that we take too much credit for our efforts and successes. We are proud of great towers we’ve built. We celebrate amazing feats of strength and what we’ve accomplished. Yet, in all of these, we do not recognize your hand. We do not recognize that apart from you we can do nothing.

    Loving God, we thank you for your incredible gifts and for creating our minds and bodies. You are overall and through all. Lord, forgive us for forgetting your work in our lives. May we submit everything to you. May you alone receive all the glory for all that you do through us. In Jesus name. Amen.

    (A time of silence for personal reflection, to be ended with the ringing of the bell.)

  • Rev. Emmanuel Orendain

  • Women Praise Team led by Berna Gorospe

  • May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

  • OT: Isaiah 57: 14-17/ Elder Jell Dizon

    NT: Luke 18: 9-14 / Deacon Jayvie Bautista

  • “Glory Be to the Father”
    (Collection of Prayer Cards)

  • O hope of every contrite heart
    O joy of all the meek
    To those who fall
    How kind Thou art!
    How good to those who seek!

  • AS LONG AS I HAVE BREATH
    by Sue Farrar
    Sung: CPC Chancel Choir/ Karine Bendicion, conducting

    As long as I have breath, I will praise You, Lord.
    As long as I have life, let my soul rejoice.
    In times of sore distress,
    In times of loneliness,
    As long as I have breath, I will praise You, Lord.

    As long as I have breath, I will bless You, Lord.
    As long as life is mine, I will sing Your song.
    Your joy brings forth my praise;
    Your peace fills all my days;
    As long as I have breath, I will praise You, Lord.

    Let me know Your lovingkindness everyday,
    as You walk beside me pointing out the way.
    As long as I have being, I will trust in You;
    You are my God; I lift my soul to You!

    As long as I have breath, I will serve You, Lord.
    As long as life is mine, I'll exalt Your word.
    And when this life shall pass,
    And I'm at home at last;
    Thru all eternity, I will praise You, Lord.

  • “TRUE HUMILITY”
    Rev. Emmanuel G. Orendain

  • I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

    I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of
    God the Father almighty.
    From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

    I believe in the Holy Spirit,
    the holy catholic* church,
    the communion of saints,
    the forgiveness of sins,
    the resurrection of the body,
    and the life everlasting. Amen.

  • “Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow”

  • Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us
    Hymn: Thrupp's Hymns for the Young, 1836
    Tune: William Bradbury, 1859

    1.
    Savior, like a shepherd lead us,
    Much we need Thy tender care;
    In Thy pleasant pastures feed us,
    For our use Thy folds prepare;
    Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
    Thou hast bought us, Thine we are;
    Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
    Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

    2.
    Thou hast promised to receive us,
    Poor and sinful though we be;
    Thou hast mercy to relieve us,
    Grace to cleanse, and power to free;
    Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
    Earl let us turn to Thee;
    Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
    Early let us turn to Thee.

    3.
    Early let us seek Thy favor;
    Early let us do Thy will;
    Blessed Lord and only Savior,
    With Thy love our bosoms fill;
    Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
    Thou hast loved us, love us still;
    Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
    Thou hast loved us, love us still.

True Humility

Truly, humility is our greatest friend. It increases our hunger for God’s word and opens our hearts to his Spirit. It leads to intimacy with God, who knows the proud from afar, but dwells with him “who is of a contrite and lowly spirit” (Isa. 57:15). It imparts the aroma of Christ to all whom we encounter. It is a sign of greatness in the kingdom of God (Luke 22:24–27). – from C.S. Lewis
