Call to Worship

Elder Arvi Cruzado

One: Great and marvelous are your works, O Lord God, the Almighty.
All: Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations.
One: Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name?
All: You alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you.
One: Your righteous acts have been revealed.
All: We will worship and submit to our Almighty King. Amen!

Opening Hymn #478
“Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven”

Invocation *

Prayer of Confession

Merciful Holy Father, we confess that we take too much credit for our efforts and successes. We are proud of great towers we’ve built. We celebrate amazing feats of strength and what we’ve accomplished. Yet, in all of these, we do not recognize your hand. We do not recognize that apart from you we can do nothing.

Loving God, we thank You for your incredible gifts and for creating our minds and bodies. You are overall and through all. Lord, forgive us for forgetting your work in our lives. May we submit everything to You. May you alone receive all the glory for all that you do through us. In Jesus name. Amen.

(A time of silence for personal reflection, to be ended with the ringing of the bell.)

Affirmation of Faith

(The Apostle’s Creed)
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of
God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen. (*catholic - meaning universal)
