  • Karine Bendicion

    (The Lord is in His holy temple, let all the earth be silent before Him.)

  • Leader: Deacon Jeanne Sanchez

    Leader: Now is the moment of grace.
    People: This is the hour of blessing.
    Leader: Today is the day of salvation.
    People: Here is the path to new life.
    Leader: Already joy is abounding,
    People: And love is flowing.
    Leader: For this is the day God is making.
    ALL: Let us work, rejoice and sing. Amen!

  • Let All the World in Every Corner Sing
    Hymn: George Herbert  (1593-1632)
    Tune: Erik Routley, 1964

    REFRAIN:
    Let all the world in every corner sing, My God and King!

    1.
    The heavens are not too high,
    God's praise may thither fly;
    The earth is not too low,
    God's praises there may grow.
    (REFRAIN)

    2.
    The church with psalms must shout:
    No door can keep them out;
    But, above all, the heart
    must bear the longest part.
    (REFRAIN)

  • Merciful God, you have surrounded us with abundant good and invited us to enjoy it. Rather than respond with gratitude, we long for that which we do not have. We compare ourselves to others and want more, different, newer, shinier. We want maturity without growing pains, character without effort, courage without testing, wisdom without difficulty.

    Lord, forgive our foolish ways. Bless us with a longing for your presence and a passion for your truth. Give us hearts that love with your love. Above all else may we seek to know you more, to delight in your presence and desire your ways. This we pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

    (A time of silence for personal reflection, to be ended with the ringing of the bell.)

  • Rev. Emmanuel Orendain

  • Youth Praise Team

  • May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

  • OT: Jeremiah 31: 27-34/ Elder Lynne Custodio

    NT: Hebrews 8: 3-10 / Elder Lorna Reyes

  • “Glory Be to the Father”
    (Collection of Prayer Cards)

  • Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
    and all these things shall be added unto you.
    Allelu, Alleluia!

  • A Prayer for Humility
    by Mark Patterson
    Sung: CPC Chancel Choir
    Conducting: Karine Bendicion

    1.
    Mighty God and gentle Lamb,
    Lord of all creation,
    how we long to know You,
    how we strive to serve You,
    help us now to love You even more.

    REFRAIN:
    Give us humble hearts to praise You
    and listening ears to hear Your voice,
    willing hands to serve You,
    thankful spirits to rejoice.
    Lord of all, we adore You,
    and we bring this prayer before You:
    Create in us humble hearts.

    2.
    When our thoughts turn proud,
    remind us of the grace You freely give.
    When we lose our way, Lord, find us,
    draw us close to You again.
    (REFRAIN)

    Amen.

  • “JESUS CHRIST AND THE NEW COVENANT”
    Rev. Emmanuel G. Orendain

  • Pastor: We believe that God has entrusted the church with the message of reconciliation in and through Jesus Christ.

    People: That the church is called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world, that the church is called blessed because it is a peacemaker, that the church is witness both by word and by deed to the new heaven and the new earth in which righteousness dwells; that God’s life giving Word and Spirit has conquered the powers of sin and death.

    All: We believe that, in obedience to Jesus Christ, its only head, the church is called to confess and to do all these things, even though the authorities and human laws might forbid them and punishment and suffering be the consequence. Jesus is Lord. To the one and only God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, be the honor and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

    (Confession of Belhar – selected verses)

  • The CPYF

  • “Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow”

  • Spirit of God, Descend Upon My Heart
    Hymn: George Croly, 1854
    Tune: Frederick Atkinson, 1870

    1.
    Spirit of God, descend upon my heart;
    Wean it from earth, through all its pulses move;
    Stoop to my weakness, mighty as Thou art,
    And make me love Thee as I ought to love.

    2.
    Hast Thou not bid us love Thee, God and King;
    All, all Thine own: soul, heart, and strength, and mind?
    I see Thy cross, there teach my heart to cling,
    O let me seek Thee, and O let me find!

    3.
    Teach me to feel that Thou art always night;
    Teach me the struggles of the soul to bear,
    To check the rising doubt, the rebel sigh;
    Teach me the patience of unanswered prayer.

    4.
    Teach me to love Thee as Thine angels love,
    One holy passion filling all my frame;
    The baptism of the heaven-descended Dove,
    My heart an altar, and Thy love the flame.

WHY THE BOOK OF HABAKKUK IS IMPORTANT FOR BELIEVERS

The book of Habakkuk is important because it explores the difficult questions of suffering and injustice, demonstrating that a posture of trust and faith in God is possible even when circumstances are unclear. It emphasizes that true faith is not about having all the answers but about trusting in God's character and promises, even amidst hardship.
