Invocation
Prayer of Confession
We confess, Gracious God that as another year draws to a close, we on many occasions have allowed the world’s time to dominate your time. Forgive us for our sins of hurriedness and impatience. Forgive us when we have slumbered instead of remaining alert, waiting and watching for you. Forgive us for following the world more than we have followed you.
Shine upon us this Christmas season so that we may be restored unto you. Guide us into your time, your new year, the time of your presence and power. As we call upon your name, hear our prayers and give us life. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
(A short moment of silence for personal reflection will follow this prayer, to be ended with the ringing of the bell.)

Affirmation of Faith
Father God, as we live out these last days of the year and enter this New Year, May it be a year in which You are near to us in every moment. For we believe in You, Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth.
Lord Jesus, stay by our side day by day. We place our faith in You, the one who is both God and man. From your birth of a virgin in Bethlehem to your ministry of healing and of grace, From Your self-giving death on the cross for us To Your powerful resurrection and ascension, We declare that You are Lord, and we believe in the truth of Your Word.
Holy Spirit, come to us this year in a thousand different ways. With Your gentle direction, Your quiet voice, and Your wise instruction, guide us to Jesus and His Word.
Almighty God – Father, Son, and Spirit – You have gone before us this year and now into the New. We come in confidence and joy, loving and trusting You. Amen.
